What is CTE?
Career and Technical Education (CTE) is a planned sequence of courses and learning experiences that begins with the exploration of career options, supports basic academic and life skills, and enables achievement of high academic standards, leadership, preparation for industry-defined work, pre-apprenticeship programs, and advanced and continuing education. Along with specific class disciplines, students will learn the skills, ethics and expectations of working in today's competitive global economy.
At Powell High School we offer a variety of CTE courses. You can take different classes to see if you are interested in a field. If you are, you can continue to take classes and use them to qualify for the Hathaway Scholarship. If you are not college bound or don't think you want to go to college, CTE will provide you with some real world skills to help you post high school.
